CITIC Construction organized 2022 foreign languages "cloud test" from late May to early June for its employees. The test includes nine languages including English, Russian, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Korean, Arabic, Japanese and Persian. Guided by the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and control, the written test was held simultaneously online in China, Angola, Algeria, Venezuela, Myanmar, Belarus, Iraq, and the United Kingdom. The oral exams were carried out successively via phone call or video call. The tests covered all company's ongoing projects or representative offices, with a total of 217 participants.
In order to ensure the quality and effect of the tests, the Human Resources Department of CITIC Construction further improved the pertinence of the test content on the basis of previous years, provided test preparation materials, clarified the oral test standards, established a group for all participants and confirmed the written test and oral test time one by one. Technical means such as whole-process camera and anti-screen capture were implied in the tests to ensure the fairness and impartiality of online examinations, and video dialogue was used to enhance the online communication experience for the first time.
The annual foreign language test aims to lead and improve the internationalization level and foreign language ability of the company's talents, continuously cultivate and strengthen CITIC Construction’s talent team, and stimulate the enthusiasm of the majority of employees to learn foreign languages and use foreign languages in their work. Employees who took the test said that the foreign language test organized by the company for four consecutive years has a wide coverage and high credibility, which has motivated them to continuously improve their professional skills.
